I am going to be making a DIY LED fixture for a couple of my tanks, and want some opinions on the number of LED's needed. I plan on going with Cree LED's and RapidLed kits.
First, to gain some practice, I am going to make a a fixture for my coral quarantine tank I am setting up. It will be a standard 10g aquarium. I believe one of the 6 LED retrofit kits would work on a tank this small. Am I correct?
Second, I will be making a fixture for my 40g breeder. A lot of people are suggesting that a 36 LED retrofit kit would be perfect. But others are suggesting more for SPS. Should I go with 36 LED's (3 rows of 12) or 48 LED's (4 rows of 12)?
