So i've never had a skimmer before and don't have a sump so am limited to the HOB skimmers. I'm looking at the CPR Bak Pak 2, Reef Octopus BH100 and the Aquamaxx HOB. I would love any suggestions/feedback or personal experience! Thanks guys.

New r.o. Are quieter than before, they have done some upgrades to them. That's what I'm gonna get.

You didn't state the size of your tank, but I have the Reef octopus bh 1000 model on my 50 gallon breeder tank.

sorry it's a 29 gallon. 20 lbs live sand, 25 lbs LR.

I would opt for a bh1000 or bh90 over the bh100 if you are looking at the RO line. They have the pumps outside the tank. A big bulky OTP-1000 pump in a 29 would occupy too much room and look weird.

I have a next reef PSK-110 if you are interested. I used it for about three months, then I got the bug and went to a much larger tank with dual sumps. But the PSK worked well when I needed it.

I like the bubble blaster pumps, and upgraded to the SRO 5000
