When Im, soldering my leds, can I do all the tining on the wires first or should i tin then solder to the led. Is it bad if I tinned the 60 wires first?

Shouldn't be a problem doing the wires first, but make sure you tin the led solder pads in advance too - makes the whole thing much easier.

If you haven't done it before just go slow at first until you get the hang of it - too much heat can damage the led.

If you mount the led to the heatsink using the thermal pase, it make it a lot harder to solder. I screwed mine onto the heatsink without the paste, got all wires cut and tinned as well as stars tinned, soldered everything together and than lifted each star applied thermal compound and re-atttached everying. Might be tedious if you are doing 100's of leds, but for my 27 it was not a big deal

definatly take the time to tin both the led and the wire . then its just heat and stick without trying to do it all at the same time with a roll of solder in your hand.

+1 it is crazy easy if you tin them both. Then you touch them and apply heat. No need for extra solder. Much cleaner and it does make a strong joint
