Currently my 3 fish are in a small temporary tank while my DT sits empty for another ~5 weeks :'( Never used a QT & got ich. Lost two fish but things looking up again. From now on will always QT new stock. However, there is so much contradicting advice so please help me out.

Fish: How long do you QT for? I've seen anything from 2-10 weeks :S

Coral: Dip new coral but no need to QT? I'm assuming ich is killed by dip?

Shrimps/snails/crabs: Have no idea what to do with these.

Was thinking about putting few more dwarf hermits, ceriths & boxer shrimp into DT while waiting on gettin fish back in. Do these need QT? Can they or the water they will come in carry ich parasite?

How long you QT depends on the treatment you are using. Hyposalinity or copper or formulin? What method are you using? Each one is a little different but some parts are the same.
