I am looking for a return pump for a 120 rr. 4 holes 2 in each corner. 1 3/4in and 2in. thinking about using all 4 as drains or 2 for drains and 2 for returns.

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been in the forum much this week. What are you going to be keeping in the tank as far as corals go? Are you going to be using any other wavemaking devices such as Koralia's, Vortech's, Tunze's, etc., or mostly relying on the return? How big will your sump be on this system?

will be a mixed tank no sps. will prob be using Koralia's or somthing close, sump/ref is 40g would like use some of the return for circulation but not totaly. I plane on useing all four holes for drainage with the return coming up from behind the tank.

With 150 gallons total water you need a pump somewhere between 500 and 1000 gph. It really depends on what you want to do with your sump and if you want a refuguim and to power a reactor or two. Once you decided on flow you need to decided on efficiency. Pay now or save later.

ty for the help thor, basiclly just a skimmer and refuguim in the sump. So a 1000 gph should be plenty then right ?

You have to look at skimmer. It does not make any sense to put more flow through your sump than your skimmer can skim. Look at what you are trying to do biologicaly. Your skimmer will skim and your pump will pump but what are you actually doing
