so here is the situation:

i am building a 55 reef in my basement.

i built a 30" calfo overflow box from acrylic.

i could not find any epoxy for acrylic except for loctite plastic bonder. this epoxy states it cannot be used underwater or for use in potable water systems. knowing this already, i planned on coating the joints with silicon then painting the overflow with krylon fusion, followed by another layer of silicon.

my intentions were to "seal" the joints with the epoxy.

now that this thing is about ready for water, i am second gussing myself and wondering if anyone has used this epoxy with good results, or is the silicon will def seal it in.

my assumption of this not beign approved for potable water is the fact that it isnt approved by the FDA, which would mean they coulnt lable it as potable safe.
