Maybe its just the picture, or something I've never seen before, but it looks like your substrate has a TON of detritus on it.

I could be wrong but something tells me that your tank is lacking adequate flow.

What type of filteration are you using? How about lighting? Nutrient levels?

It's hard to identify through the pictures as the tissue appears quite swollen up but it looks like it could be a Platygyra (Brain Maze)... My first coral was one of these, and I still have it. It has survived through thick and thin, including three tank changes, and a 6+ month lazy phase with no water changes, little dosing, and extremely low alk. Point being.... they can be very hardy.
