When calibrating the standard PH Probe it states "Place pH probe in calibration solution and wait for number at of bottom of this window to settle". How do you know when it has settled. Does the word "settling" at the bottom change to "settled". I've let the probe sit in the solution for 15 minutes and it never changes, however about every 2 minutes or so the number generally goes down 1 degree. I never know when to give up and consider it settled.

Thanks

Settled means that the displayed number stops changing much. Once the reading appears to be fairly steady, move on to the next step. It should take no more than a couple of minutes, 4-5 max in each solution.

If you want a number, figure 15 seconds of no changing value. If you're still changing within that time, then it's not settled yet. Swish it around in the fluid. Does it change? If so, then it's not done settling.
