Steel Stand Query

I posted this in the "Steel Stand" thread, but it is getting buried without a response. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I have a question for the steel stand gurus:

Is 1.5" (0.125 wall) square tubing strong enough to support a 44.5" span without excess deflection?

2" square just seems excessive and will add weight to my stand.

. I have a 220 on a stand I welded up with a frag tank off to the side . Only a 20 gal and then a sump down below. My stand is that just make sure u have a middle brace and four legs and u should be fine if u weld it . I weld several stands even a stainless one for a 538 . Didn't have no trouble.
