I have an ACIII Pro. My temp probe recently died on me. Well not dead, just bad readings. By mistake I bought the AC 3, AC jr probe with the telephone jack on the end. My III Pro has a head phone jack. I took a telephone wall plate and cut the tail off of my old probe. I wired the red/white/ground to the corrosponding pins, at least the red and white are right. I plugged my new probe into it and nothing. It reads 20 degrees.
Do these probes function differently?
Am I able to hack a converter for this?
I dont want to wait a week to return this.

Thanks.

The AC3 and Apex use a NTC Thermistor with 4.7k resistance at 25 degC

I'm not sure what resistance the AC3Pro uses but I'm pretty confident that it is different. There will be no way to make that work.

Wow. Thanks for the intelligent answer! I gave up last night. I didn't want to hack the new probe in fear of not being able to return it.

Probably going to have to call Neptune.
