Drain has three 1" bulkheads for a "Beananimal" overflow.

Not sure exactly what direction I will go yet with stocking it, but figuring that out will be the fun part.

Too be continued...

Is the Custom tank?

Is the Custom tank?

Yes, the tank IS custom. Wanted something a little sharper looking than a standard reef ready, and also wanted three 1" drains.

Nice tank, but can you get your hand or plumbing in the overflow? It looks a little cramped with the top covering the overflow.

It's a tight squeeze, but yes I can get in it. The bulkheads just pass through. Once I set it up I don't plan to have to get back down there anytime soon. I figure I'll attach plumbing to bulkhead, slide it down in there, and synch it down with the nut on the bottom while just holding the top from spinning.

A local fabricator in the area. Very good craftsmanship.

It will make getting any fish or snails out of it a fun thing. The tank is interesting, it appears to be acrylic but the black seams infer glass? What is the tank made from?

The overflow will be covered, so it should be ok. Also, will be running three 1" drains "beananimal" setup.

The tank itself is 1/2" glass on the sides and bottom (black silicone). The top is a one piece acrylic CNC cut out as a eurobrace/splash guard. The 1/2" glass would allow rimless at only 22" tall, but I really like this look a lot more.

Having a 48" T5 with 6 bulbs should provide nice coverage, as I am planning a more open aquascape with nothing to close to the sides.

Need to get the rest of the rock in the tank, glue the return plumbing, rinse/add sand and let the cycle begin.

Thank you for the kind words. My main goal is for the tank to be easy to maintain and very clean/modern looking. Also, to keep it organized with wires etc out of the stand. I put a cheap ottoman from target next to tank and ran all wires underneath into ottoman. It is like my powercenter void of any moisture.

Here is a quick video of everything up and running:

There are some other pictures in my flickr account as well. If there is a way to embed the video please let me know?

Well, It has been 6 months so time for an update...

I went with two Tunze 6095's for flow, and a Eheim 1262 for the return. Sticking to FOWLR. Current stock is a Bluethroat trigger male, Auriga Butterfly, and African Flameback. ANY IDEAS FOR FUTURE ADDITIONS? I was thinking a Christmas wrasse next? Always open to colorful unique fish. They can be coral eaters or reef safe.

Using a 4 bulb powermodule I picked up for cheap on a reefgeek sale. Running 2 blue+ and 2 coral+. Love the color.

Nitrates stay below 5 and I feed very heavy.

I'm planning on running a overflow like yours. In the video it looks like you modified the drain pipes from how they were in the picture. Can you please tell me about why you did that?

Just shot you a PM. Sorry for the delay, I am not on here much anymore. This tank was broken down months ago.
