Any experience with these fish? My LFS has 2 males, was thinking of picking one up.

I don't know whether a male will retain his colour without a female around??

I have very short term experience with a pair ( male + female that started changing), so probably too early to make generalizations. They are in quarantine atm but have settled in and are voracious feeders. My guess is these will end up bold and bossy, compared to other anthias.

If you bought two males I don't know whether one would ultimately revert to a female; or possibly they could injure each other during a struggle for dominance. Then the weaker one may stop feeding etc... and possibly die.

HTH and good luck!

Thank you for chiming in. You could see that one male was already dominant and going after the other male. The weaker male had decompression issues and was swimming vertically which I don't think helped. I think they are going to try and rectify the situation, we will see. The manager was saying he might just throw them in the display tanks as he was not all that impressed with them for the price.
