So I QT'd a yellow watchman exactly 4 weeks ago. He's in a 29 gallon with ls and lr paired with a randalls pistol shrimp. He was doing fine guarding the burrow entrance and eating regularly.. Until 2 days ago. He has left the burrow and is swimming around acting strange. Like he is lethargic or something. Also will NOT EAT :( I tested water and all was fine. He is swimming frantically up and down and not even going back to burrow at night. I put the watchman/pistol in the main tank today to see if he would like the bigger tank. But he's doing the same exact thing. Swimming frantic up and down slamming into stuff. No one is attacking him. Any clue? My favorite fish so far, I feel bad...
In main tank (150g) there are 5 zebra dartfish and 2 clown fish but they haven't gone near him. He's just doing the same routine as the past two days in QT.

Is he swimming oddly like trying to get back to the bottom & he floats to the top? Could be a swim bladder issue, someone else on here last week had the same problem & there were some antibiotics recommended too if you google the problem.
I had the same problem with my yasha goby about 3 weeks ago. First he ditched the tiger pistol for a few days & then spent the weekend in the back chamber of the cube. There was just enough room for him to jump back there, I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen the brat do it with my own eyes. When I put him back in the main tank he had issues staying at the bottom & would have to wedge himself against or underneath something to stay down. It took a week to 10 days for everything to be ok & I think I just got lucky. A week after he was better I increased flow in the tank & that seemed to set him off. I think he is back with the pistol, I haven't found a body & he's not in the back of the tank.
Make sure your tank is covered well, they are jumpers & if the ywg is set off that might be coming soon.

He is definately not floating. He can stay put on bottom. Still though, ditched his burrow and buddy. Not eating and swimming around nervous like. He's noticed his reflection in side glass and tends to swim with it.. He used to eat like a champ... How long can fish go without eating? Hope this turns around soon.
