do you upgrade skimmers just for the hell of it?

Thinking about getting a sro5000int to replace my sro3000.

I think my 3000 is more than adequate. Just want bigger and better.

Most of my fish are around six inch and they seem to crap a ton. I feed 5-6x/day too. About to add 4 3" lemonpeels as well.

I know the feeling of "because I can!" but I would look at everything else in your setup and see if something else would benefit from an upgrade. Are you running a controller yet? Contemplating corals yet? maybe look at lighting. What are your nitrates and phos levels, maybe look into media reactors. But if everything is good, everything is running smooth and you just are in the mood to spend, why not its your money.

I agree with Donkeykong, if you have other things that can be improved or added for easy and comfort then go with that.

Like they say, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"
