I did it, I just cut the extra wire and it has worked flawlessly for me. Saved me like 10 bucks.

Are the fans broken? I was interested in doing this since the current fans are LOUD!

easy to do just cut off the 3ed wire thats not needed and its as easy as that i replaced all 4 of mine last week
