View Full Version : What should I use to supplement Light on my 7 gallon cube?

I set up my 7 gallon cube about 2 months ago, and it came with a DeepBlue Professional Solar Flare mini led light, its only about 4 or 5 (10 white 2 blue) watts of light if I remember correctly. now i know that its not enough watts/gallon for my tank and doesn't have enough blue. What would you guys recommend to supplement more light for this tank? Only thing in it right now is a few mushrooms and they are doing fine but I've noticed them loosing some color recently which leads me to believe they aren't receiving enough light.

tank dimensions: 12inx12inx12in

Thanks for the quick reply Tx..r33f! I like the first link you posted, need to start saving for that one. Do you happen to know of a power compact fixture or some other cheep alternative I could use while I save for that LED strip?

Could I a cheap petco 50/50 with a desk top lamp or something? Sorry for the basic questions, Im still new at this.

no problem and yes the first link i like the best. it will give you an awsome shimmer effect. here is a link to a bulb i found. This should hold your corals up for a while.

i think its the one your talkong about
