Not sure what these are. I'm guessing some type of coralline algae. The base is definitely white and seems to have a calcium type skeleton when I pull some off. I had a couple here and there, but they are starting to become more numerous. Some sprout up at the base of acros ... this bunch appears right next to my mag. I'd prefer not to have them.

Aside from the actual ID, good way to get rid of them and is there a specific water quality aspect that they thrive in?

It is funny, but some folks ask me for some of them. To each his own I guess. Thanks!
