No but I have a longnose hawkfish back there that I can't get out because I glued the standpipes into the bulkhead. Kinda sucks.

Franky, when I had my HOB fuge on my 55 I had the same type of thing happen, it almost acts as a mini algae scrubber, and I never had an algae issue in my tank, if you want to trim it up every so often you can, but it will grow back and it will be beneficial.
I wish I had one on my 120 now...lol.

In an old tank I had Bryopsis that grew in there and only there... I let go, and it never popped up elsewhere... It literally acted jus like an algae scrubber... Weird, but it worked, lol...

I can see algae in the very top vent of my overflow also but I never have it in my DT so I just let it be.

I did the same on my 55 and I found my 6 line back there does ur drain have the adjustable drain pipe if so shut ur pumps off and pull that pipe up gives u enough to net it out

You could just shut the flow off and siphon the water down a bit in the overflow to net him... or do your overflows have the vents toward the bottom as well?

No I didn't use the stock overflow I made a herbie and just have two pvc pipes that aren't coming apart. And he gets plenty of food so I'm being lazy about it. Thanks though.

It is a double wall overflow so I can siphon it to lower the water level. I'll probably end up doing that just hope I don't stress him out too much chasing him around the pipes. Not much room back there and its so easy for him to swim to the other side of the pipes. And I cut a slice into the teeth of the overflow at water level so more surface water would go down the the sump which it does and works great. Just didn't think I'd have a fish small enough to fit through it. I'll have to screen that or he'll probably just end up back in there.

Useful just drain some of the water or symphony it out and then add some poly fill between the I pipes to keep the fish in the front and scoop him out

Awesome! I didn't think of that. I did a search on RC and didn't read anything like that either, that's much easier than the ways I read about and easier on the fish too. Thanks.

Probably stating the obvious but for that to work as a turf scrubber you typically remove some of the algae from time-to-time, ie. removing algae permanently pulls N/P out of the system.
