Ive had a fish tank for about 14 months. Ive always felt ive had a hard time keeping algea down. Is it the bottom line that basically they will always need regular cleaning of glass. its a 70 gallon mixed reef with 5 smlaller than finger length fish.

Are you running GFO? Using RODI water?

Yes, tanks will constantly require our care to remain aesthetically pleasing

I run GFO which i change about every 2-4 weeks a protein skimmer, a sump with chateo, and RODI

If your speaking of film algae on the glass...then yes. I clean mine twice a week but have no nuisance algae
