Is my set-up Over kill for a 55g???

I have a Current Outer Orbit 2x150w MH and 2x96w Power compact 48" on my 55 gallon tank 48"ish x 12"ish x 18" ish (not home to measure)

Is this overkill for sps, fish, and kenya tree?

No it is not, it is actually a good match for a standard 55. I am not a fan of PC's but they work good for actintics.

Not overkill light wise. It might get a little interesting heat wise.

i have it about 10" off the top, and doesnt effect it as much as it did when it was 3" off. lol
