Mag 9.5 ?

I am getting ready to set-up my sump. I am using a mag 9.5 return. What are you guys doing to keep the noise level down on these pumps? Ive herd wrap it in something put it on a sponge?? This will be feeding my 90G tank do you think I will need a gate/ball valve on it to dial it down? I am also using braid tubing.

Trying to make this as quiet as possible.

when i had an internal pump (mag 12) i never did anything. it sat in the sump and hardly made any noise. sponge is not a good idea as they make good nitrate factories. there are special pads made for vibrations for internal pumps.
gate valve will not be a bad idea for many reasons even if u dont dial ur pump down. make sure u get a union gate valve so if pump ever goes bad its easy to replace. union on in and out save a lot of headache when replacing pump.
