Hi reef central people,

I am looking for some nano fish that aren't very active like a firefish or clown goby if you get the gist. I don't like the idea of having fish which are too active for my 20 gallon tank e.g. chromis as an example as I feel they need the extra tank space.

So could anyone help me out with a few more suggestions and also no to clownfish to. Thanks

Cardinalfish are good "slow" fish that stay out in the open and swim up in the water column. Watchman gobies are good for something near the sandbed.

Thanks this is great so far. I have thought about cardinals in the past and I just totally forgot about them. I know i can look into a trio or pairs. I think I might go for a neon goby I guess as I need something moving about in there. If you could keep them coming any fish suggestion on your mind even if its not common but keep it suitable for nano's.

What about a twin spot goby would they do well?

Twin Spots don't have a very good survival record, otherwise I'd have a "4WD" as I like to call them cuz they're cute as all get out LOL.

Is this a 20 long or a 20 tall and is the tank covered?

Its a custom tank so the actual measurements are 24" x 16" x 13" and its shallow. Its not covered yet but it will be before I add fish, with netting.

a blenny would be good for a tank that size, love my tailspot!!

Netting gives you lots of otions. Cardinals & blennies are certainly good slow moving choices. We have an orange-spotted shrimp goby that likes to sit a lot & look pretty LOL.

Possum wrasses do well in nanos with docile tank mates.
