Does anyone know how you pair a pistol shrimp with another pistol shrimp? Saw a pair of Randall's gobies that were paired with a tiger pistol shrimp pair. All four shared the same hole and it was much more exciting to watch than just the normal goby pistol pairing. I am curious about how I can obtain or form my own pair of pistols to pair with a pair of gobies (species is undecided as of now).

Not sure how easy they are to sex and even if adding a male and female will mean they'll pair(doesn't always work for harlquinn shrimp) however I'm pretty sure I've occasionally seen pairs listed for sale online, they may show up occasionally on liveaquaria in diver's den.

i have a pair in my tank, with a yasha.. i never get to see them but they are paired. Once a month they will spawn and zillions of tiny baby shrimps feed my anthias and corals.
They just pair by themselves.. u cant tell who's who.. and if they will pair or not.

So should I just buy a few and put them in like a 10 gallon tank and see if I get a pair then work on pairing with a goby?

I have had 4 Pistol shrimp in my tank for 2 years and they have never paired.
Any time they get close they snap at each other.

That might turn into war. I'd watch or write some of the online stores or ask your (trusted) LFS if they can acquire a mated pair rather than take a chance on a war trying to pair them up.
