What type of sand do people most recommend for the display tank??

I would recommend Nature's Ocean live aragonite sand in the bags, it will cycle the tank faster and has live bacteria, hope this helps...

I actually use Play sand from Home depot.... Cheap stuff, and you can buy one bag of live sand to seed.. Or, got to your LFS and see if they will let ya take a little baggie home for free.. :)

Word of advice, just so you don't make the same mistake I did. If you plan on having a ton of flow for SPS corals, get something with a slightly larger grain. Sugar fine sand tends to get blown around very easily and can cause unsightly murk.

+1 I believe if there was anything close to a consensus here seaflor special grade would be it.

+2 sugar size sand blows around to easy. This sand isnt to big or small imo it is just right
