I have a few of these and was wondering if I can keep a torch/hammer/frogspawn/bubble coral with the 150w JBJ MH. Its the old one from a few years back.

I have a pheonix 14k DE bulb, coral vue 20k bulb, or I can buy whatever bulb that would help.

Tank is a rimless 24x18x18.

If I can keep these LPS to thrive, then I will look into a nice LED unit at the end of the yr.

Thoughts? TIA.

I don't think you would have trouble keeping some Lps under that light, it's similar to what comes on a biocube hqi and I know guys with clams in those so I think you should be ok

You would be able to keep any coral with that light in an 18" deep tank.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will try it out. I'm experienced with keeping fish, but
never kept a coral.

I'll cycle the tank next week and see how it goes.

Any recommendations on bulbs(K?) ? its a D.E 150w halide.

+1- I had a viper for a while that actually worked very well. I just didn't like that it hung on the back of the tank.
