This first one is some sort of a clam/oyster. I have 3 of them in hard to get to areas. First time I noticed was during a water change. I drained down my DT further than usual. out of the corner of my eye I saw a squirt of water... what was that? Kinda startled me. Shot probally 8 inches.

This next one is inside a large piece of live rock. it never gets any light. Its about the size of a nickle. The white tentacles are all around it.

I really appreciate this. Its a new tank but its not. 55 gal that I had to buy around 03 after finding nemo came out. I knew absolutely nothing about its care. Of course everything died. The live rock I purchased then is full of everything imaginable now. I did no water changes for almost 8 years, just topped off. The past year I've really been bitten. I've got the tank under control and its turning out lovely. I'll post some pics someday. Hey thanks all. I LOVE RC....

The second picture looks like a sponge of some sort. (harmless) As far as the first picture goes. I'm not really sure what it is exactly, but here's a good article. HTH.

Tunicates? Sounds like it by your description... hard to tell from pics though.

Tunicats if they squirt.
