Just like the title states....

I would like to see examples of what you guys have done with your Wet/Dry to convert to sumps (maybe fuge). I recently acquired a 90 GAL tank and it came with a Wet/Dry loaded with bio-balls. I dumped the bio-balls immediately and now need to get and idea of what I am going to do for a sump.

Thanks for the help in advance guys.:wavehand:

I never had any luck figuring out how to make mine have sufficient space for a skimmer, fuge and a return, so I ended up trading mine in to a local LFS that takes in equipment for store credit. They make custom fuges for those of us who are not skilled in making them, in my case, out of a 30 gallon used aquarium.

While I'm all for the "making what I have work" theory, I think in the case of a wet/dry sump, it might be best, if you have enough room, to go with a DIY sump to replace it.

I have a similar sump to yours. I just filled the section where the Bio balls would go with live rock and put more live rock on the bottom under the petition. So far that is all I have done with mine. But I may upgrade it in the future. Unless my water perimeters stay good. Then I will leave it like that. Just make sure your rock is totally submerged.

you can get LR rubble cheap, just buy that instead of doing bio balls and eventually changing them out for the same thing any way. Like Andy said make sure it stays under the water level.

I am going to give this a try. I know my LFS makes custom sump/fuge. I hope they will trade with me or give me some credit.

Thank guys

I didn't convert mine. It still has bioballs! LOL!!! Just added rock. :) I know, I'm a heretic, but it works for me.

I can't think of a better media to house beneficial bacteria to aid removing ammonia from the water stream.
