have you recently feed the coral? (im assuming its a hammer or frogspawn)

What are your water parameters, temperature and light type/hours on? How long have you had the hammer coral? How long have the two heads been closed up? Hammers, frogspawn and torch corals will on occasion just close up for seemingly no reason, but they will also close if they are exposed to too much light for a prolonged period or are unhappy with the water chemistry. Give us a little more information to make a better guess at the problem.

Test the water. Alk could be low. Do a water change that almost always brings my closers back open.
