I was thinking about getting this block of marinepure from bulk reef supply. They're supposed to work really well and boost biological filtration (aerobic and anaerobic bacteria). People have said they dropped nitrates from 100 to 2 over a couple months. Any thoughts???? http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...8x4-block.html I do I nitrate issues and will be doing a bunch of water changes when I get home to drop them. But still want to keep them down in between changes. Any personal experience with these blocks?????

I've never used that product, however, I have and still use Red Sea NO3 PO4x. It's hands down the best additive I've ever used. It dropped my NO3 from 40ppm to 0 in a week. I was constantly doing water changes and could never get my Nitrates to drop down until I used this Red Sea product. My Skimmer works like never before as well. Also dropped my PO4 from 1ppm to less then .10 in that same amount of time. It's a Methanol based product so you CAN overdose it which can cause it to be detrimental to your tank! Make sure you have a Skimmer as well to put oxygen back in your tank. Just my .02 cents.

Yes, the blocks do work. We had a 600 gallon tank built for us. For four months we could not get it to stabilize with the material that the "professionals" put in. We put in the qubes and the tank stabilized in three days. We are no going to add it to our three other tanks.
