Would a HOB skimmer fit in this gap?

I attached a picture showing the back of my DT and was wondering if it's possible to fit a HOB skimmer in this 3 inch gap. I already added the water and thought that would be enough room for a skimmer, but now that I'm looking at them, they seem rather large. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure about other skimmers but the reef octopus I use requires about 5 inches. I'm sure some are slimmer than mine but I bet you will need at least another inch or two. Maybe you could hang it on an end if you can't move it.

Depending on which skimmer you get, HOB skimmers usually need space to hang on the rim and a pump is inside your tank. You would just need room to fit a pump and hose if your choose to use it.
