I just picked up a golden torch coral this afternoon. I was going to put in the tank and decided to cut off the bottom nub of the frag plug. As I did this, the whole frag and torch broke in half. I have never had this happen before and I'm so upset.

Any chance of this torch healing? Anything I could possibly do to help it survive?

I've had this happen with some of my branching hammers and frogspawns that have split righ through the center of a branch all the way to the flesh. I've just put some superglue at the base of the crack away from the living tissue to hold the skeleton together and then clued the coral to a new frag rock or plug. Its worked almost everytime.

I have had this happen numerous times until I invested in a Reefkeeper bandsaw. I never attempted to glue the pieces together. I simply drop them into the sand to hold them up and let them heal. They do surprising well, I do not believe LPS gets the credit they deserve for being tough post-fragging.
