I have a 30g that has been finished cycling for about a week and a half. Currently I have a very small CUC consisting of 3 nassarius snails, 1 turbo, and 1 bumblebee, as well as a firefish. I just started a diatom bloom about two days ago with a lot of visible growth today.

I plan on keeping mostly LPS and zoas, but I will want to try my hand at some SPS now that I have proper lights, skimmer, and a little more knowledge than my last go around. I bought Kent Marine Nano Reef 2 part. When should I start dosing?

You should be testing, calcium, alkalinity and magnesium. Calcium and mag will deplete slowly, so once you get some corals in there, test alkalinity daily, because that will deplete the quickest. You need to figure out how much your corals consume daily. In the beginning, your stony corals won't grow as much so your water won't deplete as fast, so water changes will probably be enough. As your corals grow bigger, you will consume more 2 part. There's a good article in the chemistry forum about dosing.

yup you wont know when to start dosing until you start testing, as for now, if you are having diatoms you are likely still having a cycle...99% of softie growth can have the parameters maintained with regular water changes...once the stones and LPS start to get bigger you will need to be dosing alk and cal..as for how much totally depends on how much it takes to keep your tank stable...
