Hi,

All of a sudden, I've noticed that 2 corals aren't looking so great. There are only 2 corals in this tank, plus a lot of live rock, 2 clown, a damsel and a cardinal fish.

Salt is a perfect 1.026 but I haven't yet checked anything else.

thanks.

the zoos appear to be fine. not sure if i can twist my neck far enough to look at the other one. don't think i'd add anything else for a while if this is a new setup.

zoos will often open and close from time to time.

I am getting the impression your Euphyllia is being blasted with the 30-40x flow rates, advertised continually on these forums. I am assuming that's a torch. I would try to make sure you are not pulverizing it with too much flow. LPS are gentle wavers...medium indirect flow.

You're going to need to check more than salinity too. Labeling that "spot on" and not looking elsewhere won't help. NO3, Ca, Alk, Mag etc. could all play into negative tank behaviour.

Hi,

He plumped a bit after I placed one small bit of shrimp in his mouth. But, I think he's spitting some of it back up as the pieces are too big.

I saw a video on youtube of someone feeding corals using ground up shrimp and some type of baster. But, this arrangement didn't prove to work so well for me, as the shrimp seems to just go everywhere. The pieces have to be big enough to not float around easily.

Any other tips?

Have you checked the rest of your parameters?

Feeding should not be needed if lit correctly. What is your flow, light, and parameters?

Hi

Waiting for a calcium and Mg test kit via web order but other params look ok.

Temp is 77 or so.

Lighting is 10 rows of panorama led strips. White/blue is on 6 hours a day, blue/purple kicks on for another 3 at night. Tank is 48 inches long and 25 deep.

Sump pump is eheim 1262, skimmer is reef octopus xp2000sss. Wave box is tunze nano and it's running when the white lights are on.

Looks like a plate coral. They have a calcium requirement. Read up the sticky on chemistry. If it's not apparent, it's in my sticky up above.
