My skimmer has just not been cutting it for some time and I'm looking to upgrade. I really liked the look of the Tunze 9410, but its ideal immersion level is 5.5 inches to 9.4 inches. Is there other decent skimmers out there with a lot higher immersion levels? The water level in my sump is 16 inches where I want to put the skimmer. I have to put my current skimmer on square plastic bottles which isn't ideal. The space it fits in is 13 inches long by 11.5 inches wide. I'm not considering super high end ones like Bubble King.

I would suggest a SRO 2000. you can get one for $360

I can't find their ideal immersion level anywhere. Do you have any idea what it is?

Can you mod the sump baffle?

Can you mod the sump baffle?

That may be the option that I have to do to get the water level lower.

So is the SRO 2000 considered that much better of a skimmer than the Tunze 9410? For those that own the SRO 2000, do they produce much noise?

Check out the sca302 I just got one and for the money it is awesome. I bought it on the rec of a lot of the people here on this forum. There is a huge thread about this line of skimmers.

I've modified my baffles, so any height will work now.

I've checked out reviews of some the suggested skimmers, but what would a really silent one be? People's reviews of Skimz seem to suggest they are pretty quiet.

I have an SRO XP 2000 on my 125 and I hate it....can never get it dialed in...very finicky...must be in 6" water depth and u have to have it at the right water level inside the skimmer, and even then it may or may not skim efficiently....that's just my opinion...I've also been looking for a better skimmer......I think some other people may have had better luck with this skimmer but I haven't

u also have to mod it ....to silence the water splashing out.....it would be nice to get a skimmer that is not so finicky and that you don't have to mod

seaside aquatics cs8will be a great choice. It uses a scce 1000 pump and runs super quiet.
