Return Pump

I have a quick question, I just finished my DIY Refugium, my return pump has a small filter in it, should I leave it in or remove it? I want to make sure that some copepods can eventually make it to my display tank.

There is never a small question. We can debate this for two to three weeks.

Ok seriously the main concern is a snail getting in your pump. If you have some kind of screen to prevent anything bigger than a skittle sized snail you should be fine.
