What would be the best way to frag this duncan colony or is it pretty much inpossible? For some reason the heads have all grown super close to each other. Thanks

Probably use a dremmel?
You're asking why the heads grew so close together thats how they grow.
The only duncan that does not grow like that is the branching duncan.

Next to impossible to frag non-branching duncans

You can definitely frag that with a dremel tool. Just try to cut a few of the outgrowths pretty high up and inbetween two of the 'heads' with a dremel tool. I may lose the heads closest to the cut, BUT you will end up with more frags that will continue to grow.
