I'm going to be switching Apex base modules on my main display system: I'll be going from an Apex to an Apex Lite. A different tank is getting the Apex, as that tank needs the VDM ports and my main display doesn't.
Can I back up the settings from the Apex, and load those on the Apex Lite? I'll just be doing a straight across swap of the base modules: everything else is going to stay exactly the same.
I think this should work.

I know that using a backup from an Apex Lite on a full Apex causes problems. I have no idea if going the other way is OK or not, but I suspect that it's not recommended. You could run into issues with AquaBus IDs.
This is a question you really should ask Neptune directly. Email them: support@neptunesys.com

Thanks, Russ.
I've got a crazy amount of code to move over to the Lite. I'll contact Neptune directly.

Let us know what they advise.
And if they tell you you should rebuild from scratch, you can use the Reeftronics (http://www.reeftronics.net) Program & Profile Lister to generate a HTML or PDF report to make a hard copy of your current outlet naming & programming and profile setting. You can also select, copy and paste right out of the report to make reprogramming easy and error-free.
There are two versions of the tool... one for those who have access to their controller via the Internet, and one for those who don't. Both are on the right sidebar under Tools.

Unfortunately, that will not work. The variable speed outlets will throw off the configuration of your Apex lite. So you'll need to reprogram it from scratch. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Drat. Oh well.
Thanks for you suggestion, Russ. I'll check out Reeftronics.
