Hey All,

Just curious to see what the general consensus is about fish to tank size ratio is? I currently have a 65 gallon saltwater tank w/ 2 pajama cardinals, 2 orbiculate cardinals and 2 ocellaris clown fish. How much more room (if any) do I have for more fish?

Thanks in advance!

Pat

depends on the fish you want and size of your current one. I dont think there is any true "golden ratio"

I'll give you my opinion on stocking. With small fish like the ones listed I think one fish per 10g is pretty good. When you add something like a dwarf angel I like to have 20g per fish... the dwarf angels get thicker. Other factors come into play (amount of rock, sump size, size of fish, maintenance schedule etc.) so its hard to say exactly how many fish should go into a tank. If you stay with small fish and are good about keeping things clean IMO you should stay around 8/9 fish max. Remember, this is JMO.
