Can anyone suggest a brand of veggie clip that actually works well? I want to feed my tang algae sheets but I just can't find a good clip for it. Some clips don't clamp down strong enough and the tang just pulls the algae right out. Most of them don't have a strong enough suction cup, and it just gets pulled off the glass. I've been just clamping it to the glass using my magfloat, but I don't really like that solution. I can't clean my glass when it's being used for feeding.

I use this one:

It works fine and it's handy to get it out of there and loaded with Nori. You have to clean the clip part now and then because it gets full of crap. Here's a cool tip I got from another member. Fold a piece of nori in half and cut it in strips, leaving an uncut portion on the bottom for the clip to hold on to. My fish waste a lot less of it this way and I don't have big pieces of it floating all over the tank.

That is an excellent tip, I hate it when they tear off a big piece and just let it float off to get stuck under a rock.

i use a rubber band around a small rock that i can easily remove to load with nori.

+1

Works great for natural algae too. The magnetic clip allow's you to move the clip to the surface, so you don't have to put your hands in the tank.

I read a few bad reviews on the TLF's clip that they are easily breakable. Any comment on that, or were stupid people just being too rough with them?

Stubby, sounds effective, I'd rather not reach to the bottom of the tank every day to feed algae.

I like mine. It has fallen apart a bit, but is still usable. I also think my foxface has eaten some of the foam. It still works fine and I love not having to stick my hand in the water.

Our fish LOVE the TLF VeggiMag:

I just bought a new one a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to see that it no longer has the white foam. I'll try to get a pic of it later today.

+1 for that. I even use it on my 180 and it still holds very well. Suction cup ones dont usually last very long for me.

I had one with a suction cup on it. As you well know, the suction didn't last long. So I took some fishing line and tied slack around the top brace of my tank, so it hangs midway in the tank.

I made my own with a tarp clip, suction cup and a zip tie. Best clip that I have ever owned. It only comes off when I take it off. I can't get to the link via taptalk. Look under my threads.

+2 on the two little fishies clip. Also what kind of wrasse is the green striped one on left side of your photo. It's beautiful!

The TLF clip works great on smaller tanks but on thicker glass the first time a fish grabs the algae it pulls the entire clip off. Magnet is not strong enough for bigger tanks/thicker glass. I use 1 on my 90 and it works great but it does not work at all on my 265.

Get a small spool of fishing line. Then it don't matter HOW thick the glass is. ;)
