AI power supply quick question

Hi, I'm about to hook an AI Sol and was wondering if I can safely add a 3' extension to the stock power supply wire? There is a small barrel like thing on the factory plug near the end where it plugs into the fixture. It makes routing the wire look messy and if I could add the extension I could relocate the barrel like thing to behind the stand. Thanks for any info.

The barrel is a ferrite bead and should really stay nearest the fixture.. but if it really bugs you then you should be okay moving it..
Typically this bead is used/generically placed there by the power supply manufacturer to reduce EMI/noise seen by the load. For a LED fixture like that you should really have no issues moving it or removing it all together.

Great thanks for the reply. Maybe I'll just go with a 6" extension and mount the bead behind the fixture, still a lot cleaner looking than just hanging off the side.
