:fun5: I was told how difficult a 5 gallon tank would be. I did some reading and decided to go for it. Actually it hasn't been that bad. I do a water change of half gallon about every other day sometimes everyday. I test about twice a week. I have done a few things trial & but all seems to be going good. Any advice or should do's?

5 gal
5-15gal hang on the back filter with bio filter
small in tank filter for water movement. just put in nitrates and phosphates pads in it
nitrates and phosphates are on the lower side but not at 0. are the pads overkill?
everyone is still alive and seems to do well.

I can't seem to attach photos to this post I have them in my profile.

How long has your tank been running?

I would suggest doing water changes weekly, this way you can keep track if your water conditions are stable or are on the swing. During the week you can top off the tank with fresh RODI water to keep your water levels in check.

It's been up for about 3 months now. I did water changes once a week for the first month or so and lately since I've had fish in there I've been doing them every other day, wanting to keep the nitrates and phosphates down.
