adding sand over crushed and whole shells

should I remove the shells before adding sand? will sand over shells keep them down or will they work their way to the top. would the combo look good? thanks for any help -Joe

ive always read that eventually the sand will work its way to the bottoms just because its so much smaller.

Remove the shells and crushed coral. Cronis is correct, over time the shells and coral will work its way to the surface.
