if for sure they had ich then i would either do hypo or copper and treat them for 3 weeks and presume safe.

as far as i know these fish never had spots but were in the same tank. id say no and not bother at all but im sure as time goes by he will be getting rid of them dirt cheap

If the fish were in a tank that had ich, there is no way I would put them into my tank without treatment of some kind. That is not to say I would not take the fish. My personal favorite method of "treating" ich is the tank transfer method. It is simple and affective.

It is good to get in the habit of QT anyway.

ive always qt everything that has gone into my tank. so i would be correct in assuming that 2 months in my qt tank would rid them of any possible chance they may have ich i use this qt tank for corals as well so i would rather not use copper in it. at the moment it is empty so it would be fish only

I would tank transfer. It is easy, you can use 5 gallon buckets, and it only takes a couple weeks.

Just qt them and watch for spots. One reason for qt is that fish who have had their environment and water radically changed are apt to lose slime coat and come down with any parasite or bacteria they are carrying. This usually happens within 4 weeks. If they come down with something, diagnose and treat. Don't treat until you diagnose. If it were bacterial, it would be bad to have copper in the water.

I wouldn't be too worried about just observing in QT for most other fish. But if you are sure that the tank they were in had Ich, then I would definitely worry that they are Ich carriers. I wouldn't trust myself to just "observe", simply because I am not a disease expert and not all fish with Ich will show the telltale spots. If you want to use your tank to QT corals as well in the future, I would do hyposalinity or tank transfer, definitely, on these fish that come from an Ich tank.

I'll take the opposite stance, I wouldn't take the risk unless it was a very very rare fish that I really wanted but couldn't find. Most of the fish you see nowadays are regularly available and risking ich in my tank wouldn't be worth it to me.
