who uses m.h. only

i have a mix reef with softies and a couple of monticaps,i was wondering who uses only m.h. for there lights and how long do you run them daily.thanks.btw i have 2 mh 175 20k cheers.

150 gallon with 3 250W MH 20K radiums. I only run MH and I run them for 5.5 hours a day 7 days a week and a least once a month i do lights out for 24 hours. I have a mixed reed softies, LPS, and some SPS and been doing this for 2 years.

I used a 250 over my 36. Got some pretty good growth but only ran for like 6hrs a day. Switched to LEDs so I could enjoy my tank more. Started getting better growth on my sps with LEDs. So I stayed.

I run a single 175w Iwasaki 14k for 11 hours per day. The lamp is 8" above the open top of my 20g tall. The water temperature peaks at 82F with an ambient temperature of 75F.

Softies and Euphyllia show rapid growth. Montipora and Acropora were growing nicely but someone has eaten all the Acros and is working through the Montis :(

On my 46 reef, I run 2x150w Phoenix 14k MH for 11 hours a day, but at night I turn on a 36" ecoxotic stunner blue LED strip for moonlight, and make the colors pop. I turn the LEDs on just before the halides go off, and turn them off before I go to bed.

I run 2x 250w 14k halides from 1pm to 10pm on my 55 gal. The tank gets quite a bit of natural sunlight all day. I like to enjoy the tank later into the night. Moon lights on till 3am they're kinda bright, so I do full lights off for the tank for a while. I'm having great success with it. I'd like to add 2 t5 blues when I upgrade to my 110gal (I'll have more depth for them) but we'll see

I have two 250 watt halides on a 120. Currently using reflux 12k, good growth from corals and anemone but switching to 14k for the colors...

MH only.. 10-12 hours daily...1400K phoenix bulb...
I have been looking at a more versatile light system with actinic then MH like noon to six, then actinic though.

I have 3-250w 20K XM for 12 hour/day, but at night I use the blue LED xmas lights for Moonlights.

I run a 150w phoenix for 12hrs/day over my Solana. I ran a 250w radium over a 30gcube with sump in the past. Same duration, but required a fan in the sump tied to my controller.
