Thanks for checking this out.. Kinda new to reefing so any input is welcomed. I have been in freshwater for over 18 years and now breeding FW super veils lace fin angel fish and black moscows

First pic of the custom 40 breeder stand.

Should be strong as hell....

Timeline to finished product. Not bad for my first time. Lol.

After a couple days of buying live rock to seed with, my first sign of life was very exciting.

Clean up crew and brittle stars were added after 2 months running with a few FW Mollies I had laying around. I acclimated them to my reef tank thrpughout 24 hours via a hang on breeder box. Pretty neat.

It's so wierd seeing Mollies and clownfish together. For the first 5 days they totally ignored each other. Then finally started to check each other out.

Ok, so now we are up to nowadays... I installed my SCA 150 gallon skimmer 3 days ago. I have no idea what I was waiting for...

Last week I added my first coral (basic green zoas) and 3 powerheads. I placed 2 950 and 1 500 gph PH in there. I'm finding out real quick that my sand is too fine for these PH. It stinks but I love the fine sand look. I also got a quad wavemaker for cheap.

Well, I gotta put up a fts and take a picture of my sump I built. Im using the gl*******s 750 gph overflow box with dual split returns.

I have been growing cheato under a 6500k cfl in a home depot clip in work light and I just added a led 6500k screw in bulb in a Walmart clip on desk lamp. Seems to be working...y only complaint so far is these damn aqueon PH are so loud turning on and off from the quad wavemaker. I have them set to switch every 60 seconds. Hmmm.

I wanted to get a thread going in my 40 breader and get up to speed because I keep reading everyone elses 40B threads. I was thinking, now it's my turn... I know I am kinda all over the place with this but I'm trying to document everything. I know o am missing some stuff though.

Oh, I aded a little fishies phosphate reactor and running brs gfo. Also, the led I'm going with is the Evergrow D120 Chinese black box with no optics.. I have been doing so much research on these and it seems like they are the best bang for the buck. The light will be sitting about 7 to 9 inches off the water.

Thank you both. I love 40breeders also. The perfect size in my opinion. Only problem is that there aren't many produced tank stands for them.

A couple new pieces. I bought my first zoas, basic green button zoas but they seem to be losing some color. Also, my wonderful neighbor gave me 4 pieces if his xenia. I love them when they are fully opened up.
