Possible a Syllid worm?

Just found this guy in the tank, and couldnt nab a good photo... unretracted it was about 7-9 inches with a brown to red to brown to red coloration from head to tail with flexible "bristles" around 5-10mm. I have narrowed it down to the syllids? Do they pose any known threat to corals?

Yes. Thats how i came to my conclusion, but needed more input for identification. The f'r was poking out tonight so im waiting for him to make a mistake and come out. Then its getting fed to the mantis
