I have a plate coral I introduced into my tank about 2 weeks ago. Placed it on the sand bed and it was fine. Decided 4 days ago to feed it half of a feeder goldfish and ever since it ate it, the tentacles are retracted to the skeleton of the plate and look deflated. Is this a normal thing?

i am not exactly sure but i read somewhere that they might do this when they are not feeding or looking for food
give it some time and see if the flow is too high
they dont like high flow

Don't feed it feeder goldfish they are not good foods at all and it is way to much protien for a newly introduced coral to eat u must work up to that.his gut is probably rotting from infection.they are tough but not that tough glade

Thanks!
This is what my LFS said. Hoping he comes back. Did a water change and got sand on him and he gradually brushed himself off with the tentacles and then retracted them again...hoping I didn't kill him since he was SUPER beautiful :(
