Ok, got my tank, stand and light. Now I just need to set up my frag tank. I have a couple of questions on how to go about this. First I am wondering how much flow I need for the tank. Its a 20 long and I will be keeping mostly zoas. I have a Koralia 3 (1050 gph) that I was planning on putting on, I just wanted to check that this is not to much (or to little) flow for the 20. Can I use the water from my DT to start up and do water changes for my frag tank or should I use new water? Do I need to cycle the frag tank? Also I had some pebbles from an old freshwater tank that I was going to put a layer of on the bottom. Will this be the same as using live rock? I figure it is just a place for bacteria to collect so it doesnt really matter, am I correct?

for a 20 gal tank and for softies u dont need that much flow about 500gph turnover is plenty. frag tank needs to be cycled unless u use filters /rocks from the established tank. just water alone will not cut it. using sand and rock from ur established tank will bring the bacteria needed.

Thanks, I have some live rock from my DT that I can put in. Is that all I need to put in or should I use the old shrimp trick to cycle?

piece of LR from other tank is plenty....
also the 1050 will work on the 20. more than needed but since you have it go with it

Actually I have a koralia 2 which is 600 gph so it should be perfect.
