Hi everyone, I thought you guys might like this clip I put together of my mantis shrimp named Rod. He just started coming outside of his cave more and more. I have had his tank set up for a year now and he seems to be doing great. He eats live cerith snails which I collect locally.

If it werent for the clear as day black & white meral spot I would of assumed this to be a G.tern mostly due to the distinct red lines running across the abdomen, that is pritty common in G.tern, nice video though =D

Not that I can see but he did dig out the sand to create a nice deep, dark burrow.

blackwidow I had my smithii for years and years, and the way I feed it was to provide a large cleanup crew. You can find deals on reefs2go for 100 blue legs for $20 shipped. Similar deals from them on snails. Keep a look out on their sight for free shipping sometimes them through in a pod pack. These pod packs are a nice way to up your pod count or introduce new types to your tank. Being your mantis is so new like I put in your thread I would just add a couple snails and leave the poor beastie alone its new give it a week then start messing with it. Looking forward to pix of your new little guy/gal.
