Recently set up a led bar to supplement my mh. There are 12 rb lights which I brought used on a heatsink. All were working on the old set up. Stripped the fixture and resoldered on to a c channel bar. Problem is when I plug the lights in only the first 2 and last light on the string light. The others I have tested do light using my multimeter on diode setting except for 2.

My question is what did I do wrong and how do I fix it.

was it a do it yourself strip you bought used? If it was i would double check your connections just to make sure its all soderd correctly. Sorry if this isnt much help i just finished my project with LEDs on my fixture a couple months back and this was a problem i ran into.

The 2 that don't light on diode test from multimeter are probably toast. Use the same setting on your multimeter and check for continuity and shorts. That's more than likely the problem.

The other LEDs that didn't light when I plugged in the driver work when I test with a multimeter. I think I fried two led stars. Most likely bad soldering on my part.

Issue resolved. It was my soldering some must have gotten on my screw. Pics of my project. 12 3watt Crees with 60 degree optics.
